In most cases, "Made in USA" does mean something! In gooseneck trailers I have had a Keifer 1000 10 ton gooseneck for years and a lot of miles. This is the best made trailer I have ever seen. Wiring is in steel conduit. Great welding. Oil bath axles. Came with decent tires. I like the single tube hitch design, you can generally see the load behind it. "Soldered and shrink wrapped" wiring in conduit. On any trailer, the quality of the electrical wiring back to the brakes may be the difference between stopping and an accident. Wiring is the first thing I look at when purchasing a trailer. Wiring is usually a sign of the quality level of the rest of the trailer. The problem usually comes in when folks want made-in-USA quality but an import type price, especially in trailers! Seems there are a lot of fly-by-night trailer manufacturers out there. The Keifer is probably a bit higher price than some of the southern made trailers but over the years probably a lot lower cost than the bargain trailers. Quality is not cheap. You will not go wrong with a Kiefer 1000. This is a quality Made in USA product!
