South Plains of Texas | I can't help you on the corn part, because we bagged dry grain sorghum. I can tell you that it sped up our harvest tremendously. We just bought our bagger this year, it is a Richiger. It works really good. We learned a couple of things. First is bag on good firm level ground. I'm not talking about a long rolling hill but things like tractor ruts and stuff. It will cause the tractor to roll forward and you can't keep even pressure on the bag. Second is to spread some urea on the ground before you build the bag. This will keep the rodents from building nests under it. Also clean up around it when you get thru. Don't leave any "bait grain" to attract deer and hogs. Like I said I don't know about the wet corn part but I hope this helps. Oh yeah don't start to close to the end of the bag or finish to close to the end or the grain will settle in a day or two and try to bust out the end. We had a couple do this and we just opened them up and scooped some out with front end loader and put it in the grain cart and then closed them back up. | |
