SC MN | Lots of experience with this system. Make sure you have a helper spring as suggested. Things to check are the condition of your worm gear, the ring gear on the auger and as suggested the thrust bearings on either side of the worm gear. You may have to replace the worm gear and thrust bearings and rotate the ring gear on the auger to a new wear area to get it working like new. On the newer mills the worm gear ran in a little oil bath, but I don't remember if the 475 is like that so just rub a little grease on the worm gear occasionally. | |
