I was just starting buying equipment in the the 1980s back then the new larger equipment took a even bigger hit percentage wise than the older equipment . I really think the Glen Elder sale showed the value of having your equipment shedded not a lot of demand for the below average looking equipment, poor prices are a large factor also. Only the mint equipment has a chance of selling  good now.
