Either navel ill or stepped on and broke, hope it is the latter.  Splint or treat with massive antibiotics respectively.  If it is broke at the very bottom joint they heal really fast.  Broke leg takes a few weeks of splint, take off after first week and put new one on, make sure wrapping isn't too tight to cut off circulation.  Use horse tape NOT duct tape.
