Subject: RE: Alley scale or scale under chute? - pics

Driftless SW Wisconsin

The TruTest system appears to be designed for this environment. I do try to keep manure from doing through the platform perforations with the rubber mat.  Even the larger load bars under my hay shed chute are drenched in manure etc after my vet and work the herd, preg check or I just run the calves through to get a monthly weight.

At that installation I hose out the chute and underneath after each use. These bars appear to be mostly stainless steel or heavy galvanized steel. This is a very different environment from a typical pallet scale.

Here's a pic of the chute mounted loadbars. A very heavy duty yet sensitive weighing setup. I can walk from one end of the chute to the other and the weight does not vary.

This installation is only a year old. I hose it down as long as temperature is above freezing
