niobrara nebraska | Welcome to Nebraska. Pasture tax is even worse then farmland. Most places are close to that 160 a cow. WE rented a lot of pasture for the summer for that 10 years ago. Now we have to pay double and then some. The market is better but try and buy land and then have to pay "rent" I mean taxes as well!! We've been selling 800ilb steers for a little over 1200 and change. Once the heifers go it will probably avg. about 1200 a calf. Looks like uncle sam will get more profit a head then I do........
