Subject: RE: Sale barn price rlistings

I don't believe any if the sale barns own generated reports. For the most part of the time, they base if off the best price or highest gross dollars.

Don't necessarily trust AMS USDA reports either for any given barn. They're a good indicator, and give a range, but generally not the full range.

For instance this last week I sold a calf that was our of late calving cow that there's a long story behind it, but nonetheless a very good stout steer calf. He brought .10 lb less than anything AMS had listed for that weight range. Kinda sucks, but what do you do, any single lots around here get killed dollar wise. Could of sold him with the rest a couple of months ago but really didn't feel like putting a 300 lb calf on the truck with a bunch of 9 weights and get pushed around for the 3 hour trip.
