Just about to head off to Sydney for the Sydney Royal Show and the steer hoof and hook competition. I have a steer in the middleweight section, he looks good but never know how much better the competition is until judging day. Hopefully he is in the ribbons.

After the judging they hold an auctioneers competition for up and coming auctioneers where the steers are sold. They have the state (NSW) finals and then the national finals for the best auctioneer in Australia. The national winner wins a trip to Calgary to compete there.

The auctioneers comp is being broadcast this year so if you are interested it could be worth a look. Starts at midday 17 March here which should be 8pm Wednesday (central time) there.
