Subject: RE: Long range

NE Iowa
The gun will dial up to 10cc (or more). For larger cows, we give 2 injections - like for a 1600# cow - 15cc required - I'll dial to 7.5 cc and give 2 injections. It can be given to calves as small as 350#, and we've given to all our heifer calves up to 350# by end of May timeframe, when we gave the LongRange to all our cows/heifer calves. Then we ran the younger heifers back through the chute in July and treated them then. You're not supposed to use it on bulls/bull calves kept for breeding - but if your bull calves will be steered, there's nothing to prevent you from using it on them. For our environment and timeframe, the fly control lasted through the entire summer and we haven't used any other fly control the last couple years since we've used LongRange. Our vet clinic gave us 2 guns each of the last years - we bought enough to treat about 250 head. 1st gun would have worked for the entire application process, but it got a little oily and the numbers were getting a little hard to read on the dial. Just don't clean it out with water - leave the gun & hose hooked up to the bottle(s) until all done treating. Water makes the product crystalize and it will clog it up instead of clean it out.
