Subject: RE: Opinions on electric floor heat

Strasburg North Dakota
I have electric cables in the sand below the concrete in my 54X 80 shop and love it. No insulation under the concrete but my perimeter footing is well insulated. We have very good dual heat rate here of 3.9 cents per KW from October to April. My average electric bill total with lights, A/C, and heat is $272 per month, which I am more than happy with. We run a repair business as well as our own farms repairs from this shop. I would do it again, same way, no pumps or any thing to keep up at all, don't even think about the settings, it is set at 59 degress and is very comfortable. I installed this in 2005 so it is in for 11 years with no problem what so ever.
