W.C. Mo.
I used heat mats in the the concrete in a hog nursery years ago. Over time hairline cracks in the concrete also caused cracks in the insulation of the electric mats. Granted there is more moisture and acids in my case, but my results were not good. I have used pex in many floors with excellent results. Also with pex, you can use whichever heat source is most economical during the life of the floor, be it wood, corn, gas, electric,or any other future source.
