Well that's the beauty of cows Macttle, we can all do it our way. At the top of the post you said cull her, now you call a cow that you thought killed a calf and then tore up the fence a good cow. Let's see if we are selecting for that as a positive behavior (by keeping her daughters), then with selection pressure applied over time we have a herd where at least some percentage of the calves get hurt and our fences are all tore up,,,,,seriously? Some on here, not me, would say you did the wrong thing by flinging the calf like a rag doll. Some would say, maybe correctly, that since you cut it out the cord didn't break in the normal fashion and it's brain hadn't told it to breathe yet, who knows? Maybe you could have just tickled it's nostril with a straw and done the same thing, again, who knows? Now answer my question, my calves that get up quick is all wrong??
