They will come down with time - keep cost in check and a guy will be ok - lots won't but that's not my problem - best cattle I bought were 275 lb heifers outta Virginia costing 215 delivered (fall of '07 - junior in college) sold for over 600 a HD in the spring off wheat - paid Sr year tuition plus a fall semester took 4 1/2 years - don't think we will get to those levels but a 400$ 300 weight ain't outta question, that was only 9 years ago...


Most important to me is keeping my cow cost in check. I won't have much reason to stay in business raising $400 calves. Although i say my cost is $300/cow per year. Who knows if its right. Would just be paying rent on somebody else's land, paying for someone else's hay equipment, putting wear and tear on my truck, using my paycheck to pay for gas, and giving my time for free. Actually i dont even mind all that. But I don't want to owe $1000 for each cow that I could only sell for $650 if we get there.
