Subject: Planter Drive Sprockets

Morris, IL
So i would like to do some playing around with strip cropping corn/soybeans this year. I'm wanting to seed row by row 55k-44k-33k-33k-44k-55k So 33k is standard 28 sprocket at the row unit. I think to make it turn faster i want to go smaller right? If so i come up with 21 for the 44k and 17 will get close to 55k. Is this best way to go about this? Also i believe planter used 41 chain, i just use a 40 sprocket right? I'm thinking of buying few extra sprockets. http://www.shoupparts.com/SH59877/ And cutting them correctly to weld these in place. http://www.shoupparts.com/4017W/ http://www.shoupparts.com/4021X/ Am i going about this the right way, anyone have easier way to go about this? Electric drives are not going to happen. Thanks in advance.
