eastern south central KS | I didn't understand not closing strippers either until I talked to a local pumper with decades of experience. #1 Have to file a TA (temporarily abandoned) with the State. #2 Closed in well will often requires major work when you try to put it back in production... pump components down in the bore suffer during shutdown #3 Investment already made, pumping costs are not that great and most companies need cash flow!!!
Lots of strippers in my County (Butler) and yes, very few shut down.... and I don't see them being shut down either. | |
