Ag bags have an advantage in an age when a lot of small dairies aren't sure how long they'll stay in the business. Probably takes 20 years to recover the cost of building a silo. If they decide to get out of the business tomorrow its easy to sell the bagger, silos not so easy. Or if they decide to expand they just add more bags. Silos and permanent feeding setups are nice if you have the time horizon to recover the investment cost.
