SW “Ohia” | Hey all.
Does any regions still run cattle through the old school trench-style dip vats?
I remember seeing the remnants of one on a farm in Kentucky when I was a kid. Built probably 80 years ago. About 8 feet deep and 35 feet long. Concrete walls and floor with a narrow wood roof over top. Steep slope at the entrance and a gradual one at the exit.
I know that these were used to eradicate Fever Tick in the south, but what would they have been used for in this part of the country?
So they still have any application today? Guessing pour on treatments have made them obsolete.
