Panhandle of Ne. | My wife and I were paying over 50k per year health ins 8 or so years ago. Good policy, low deductible. We could no longer afford that so we are on a Ne. BCBS group plan for several years now. It is a much higher deductible but has been a good policy so far and, unfortunately, I've had to use it a lot the last several years.
What is out of line IMO is health care. Just recently had to go to a wound care specialist for a spot on back of my right leg that wouldn't heal up. It started with cellulitis. First visit to wound care doctor was a little over 3k and only actually saw the doctor for maybe 10 minutes. He didn't do anything special it was just for his knowledge of how to tend to the wound. The nurses put the dressing on and told me how to tend to it at home. When the wife told me what the bill was, I could not believe it. Looks like I'll meet my deductible early this year. | |
