sc ia | Heat detecting is time consuming but it's not hard work. After a few years of doing it you get really good at it. Mostly you have to stay focused (no agtalk) on what you're watching. I spend 20 minutes in the morning and maybe 30 minutes in the evening with an optional mid day check. The mid day check helps you know what stage of heat and when to AI. It's not bad when you've got cows coming in heat almost everyday but when you get down to the stragglers after about 60 days, then it gets boring and you start thinking "am I missing them?"
btw, Arizona is dry but not boring. Lol | |
