North Central Texas
You have to involve those groups and show them the why. Big burn next to me is the state park with lake ray roberts. 25000 acres of water and 20+ of land. University of North texas ( aka hippy, dope smoking, save the earth, Sierra club member, liberal arts school) is right down the road and uses the setting for bio research. They had been tagging wildlife and taking forage assessments for years and have the before regular burn and after regular burn data. They put their findings into educational units along the trail to help others understand the benefits. It's a win win when the environmentalists are the ones promoting how great it is.

Environmentalists down here don't seem to be the problem. It's the yuppy that moves out to the country.
