S MN | Semi pulling about 1000 bu will net you an additional 4 cents/bu or $40/load hauling 25 miles versus 2 miles down the road. Takes about 2 cents in fuel/$20 per load to get there and back, and nothing in there for an extra hour travel time or a little wear and tear- so borderline. If hauling with tractor/wagons, I would haul local. Once it is loaded on a semi, harder decision- especially if you wait in line 2 hrs at the better bid location. | |
