I think as producers we have adapted to produce very lean in the last 2 years. What other industries could sustain such a drop in product value? They say lake houses, new paint etc is the problem, I see a lot of "waste" in many companies outside of ag. The bottom line is we are growing and producing crops for a small amount of total revenue, while retailers and processors profit well still yet. Our society now is more anti big box than ever, farmers should pull together and play on the idea, most still understand that the best steward of the land Is the farmer.

In the short term, our input costs are strangling cash flow. I'd bet many of you have sold $3 corn and purchased new paint with those checks in the past?

"Some" producers have adapted to produce lean in the last several years. Running lean dosent mean only trading 60% of your lineup instead of 80%. Or only getting the platinum pickup instead of the king ranch. Input costs are a factor, sky high rents and machinery costs are a much larger factor.
