Our ground never froze more than 2" deep this winter. Old timers have always said no frost - no crop.

Old timers always said up here a good deep froze would feed the wheat way out into late June. We had a few pocket gophers digging in January, never seen that one before. So far the pocket gophers were right ! ! !

If anything I would say the my area is in for a dryer year. We still have alot of the prairie pothole region fairly full so what ever storms do track across ND/NW MN will have more then normal moisture to work with. Devil's lake is down roughly 4.5 feet from its high water level. Leon Osborne was right 15ish years ago that Devil's Lake would stop rising in the 2000-teens.
