So is the thought that someone else loses their crop to benefit yours or you lose your crop to benefit another?

Instead of being worried about price we should be hoping for highest revenue per acre regardless of price or yield...



Unfortunately your first sentence is exactly the equation for profit these days unless we can increase demand at profitable levels for producers.
If the developing portion of the impoverished world could eventually afford to purchase our crops at levels profitable to us, than we would need to increase supply accordingly.

Of course each of us strive to attain the highest revenue per acre but simply increasing the yield leads to continuous overproduction. (Without weather problems)
Given the advance of genetics, technology, pesticides and efficiency through conglomeration of agriculture we have been able to decrease portions of the mother natures role.

I don't like the facts, but it is our burden at this juncture.
