Your post reminded me of a comment I made to my wife the other week while watching Dr. Pol show.  I think the general public can't understand how a farmer can care for, find pride in and like very much (I won't use the word love) their animals yet know all along that eventually that animal will be slaughtered.  I think that is a concept that many have a hard time wrapping their minds around.  I think about it often when I see posts on here similar to yours. 

Sorry to go off on a tangent here, but, I think it is a very interesting topic of discussion.
