Central Alberta
There will not be much land idled. Nothing else to do. As you are aware there is still land being cleared and brought into production here in central Alberta. Lots of new farmers here after their oil patch job disappeared. Farmland prices will tend to zero. Ground grows the same crop if it is worth $100 or $10000 per acre. Corn ethanol is quite competitive if corn belt land would rent for $20 per acre. Don't say that will never happen.
