| Interesting. And the new farmer is likely not really in very good shape either because he's going to go backwards on that pile of debt rather than forward. So this program in that situation is only helping the land owners which is what many programs do.
Alright, like I said, I can be convinced. I now lean towards agriculture being better off if that program did not exist as well.
On the other hand, I am pretty surprised the new farmer could make it cash flow if the 35 year old farmer could not make it happen. When I signed up, it had to cash flow. Although when I signed up, the prices they made you use were unrealistically low. Now I hear the prices they let you use are unrealistically high. | |
