Far eastern Kansas is different than Central Ks and west of here. I can remember several years ago when we were in a drought and would just get a sprinkle and Corn Stalk was getting nice rains . It seems  we vary between corn belt weather and Western Kansas weather . It makes it  hard to plan . We also do not have deep soils like western KS to  get through dry spells.
