Buxton ND | Local beans basis has widened, talked with a few guys today at our local farm show and rail rates seem to be just starting to rise.

Equals a poorer basis in your market, this does include barge fright as bushels move in those areas. All winter long part of the your strong basic HAS BEEN cheap shipping costs.
Now JUST starting to pick this up locally, what's the other parts of the country doing ?
Anyone follow barge freight ?
The BDIX/ocean freight has slipping UNDER 300, This index has been in a nasty free fall since the first of the years***** Just heard yesterday that one can hire a big big boy ship,,,,,,,,, for $2500 a day......... IMO this has China slowly all over it written all over it. Yes China is still growing but the rate of growth has SLOWED. | |
