Subject: RE: AGCO Allis?

NCOhio
We have a 1998 Massey 8280. This has the larger 8.4 Sisu engine. The Agco Allis 9745 would have the 6.6 l Sisu. at about 145 pto hp. We have an AC 8050. The cab on the Agco Allis is smaller and that would be the main disadvantage. The 18 speed Funk powershift is better than the AC. The Sisu engine is probably better. We haven't had too much trouble with our 8280. We had to change the shift controller on the steering column. We also changed most of the hydraulic cartriges on the rear of the tractor. Ours was made in Coldwater, Ohio plant. They closed that in 2000 and the 2001 and after were made in France.
