S Illinois | The question I would have is what will those acres grow instead of corn and beans. While the line from the farm association about farms going out of business is understandable, from a practicality standpoint something will likely be grown on those acres. Costs will also adjust with the most likely outcome being cheapening land or a planting of an different crop. This is like Argentina in reverse, these cost will be adsorbed and the net will likely be a small change in total planted acreage of all crops. | |
