we had the same problem...put new shaft in with seals and still leaked during cold weather... got different batch of seals from deere and they are holding... If I recall the bad ones were white plastic and the good ones were a black plastic...

Also deere did not reimburse us for our pain and personal anguish from doing the job twice for no reason on 2 tractors.
