Large pin is ground, that is correct. Center pin you want 12 volt power with key switch at " ON / RUN " position, and OFF with key OFF.

Example, if you are connecting planter with a fold box, the fold box gets its power here, and there will be a red " POWER " light on some fold boxes. If you have 12 volts all the time, even with key switch off you will drain your batteries.

Not sure of your tractor, but if older Deere 40 series or 30 series, you may have to add this wire to your 7 pin plug. 50 series and newer should be wired, but it would not hurt to pull the boot back, and check wiring for corrosion / cleanliness. I also like to run another 12 ga ground wire from the large pin terminal connection to a good ground, say like the bolt / plate on the SCV that the 7 pin mount uses.
