Thanks! I remember going to the gas station and seeing the label warning about the gasoline containing benzene. Great product but very carcinogenic so I doubt you will see that as a octane booster anytime soon. That is the flip side of this discussion and it has to do with emissions from the burnt fuel.

Great info on the new technology in enhancing refining technologies resulting in a significant reduction in processing costs resulting in ethanol becoming more competitive.

Having worked with distillation towers I understand the importance of temperature, pressure, number of trays ( and type) and reflux to achieve separation of components. This vacuum concept is no different as vacuum is also a pressure.
