I custom farm for a guy who has not put dry or lime on in 20+years
Still grows 200bu corn and 50bu beans. The soil is 5% om and nearly all drummer and elburn soils though so you question doesn't mean much without details.
Is that ^ the guy?
He's 82.
The ground is paid for.
He is guaranteed a profit by just planting.
Why would he increase input cost when might not live to see the money he spends?
He might even want the weeds just to annoy the neighbors. Suck it up buttercup. :)
