John, The chart for fiat money (US dollars) shows that IOWA crop land rent in fiat money increase is parabolic from 1998 to 2015, then turned down in 2015. The chart for commodity money (June cash corn) shows that, for that same 18 year period, IOWA crop land rent in that commodity money is randomly distributed with same value for crop years 2001 and 2015. Similar statistical behavior was observed in USDA data for all other geographical areas, including Kansas, and the entire US corn belt.

Peter's attempt below to provide screen shot of charts may work for you, but suspect its a problem with your browser setting.
I hope you can find a browser that lets you see the IOWA land rent charts, they give a much better explanation than words can.
