I felt one time like you, I felt I had something coming to me for being there whenever I was called with no notice and a lot of members of this site slapped me down and asked me why I would think I had something coming to me in addition to being paid. that advice actually helped me and now I charge what I want and keep it from being personal. Last year i wanted to buy a SP sprayer and the biggest guy i do work for had no interest in hiring me to do this spraying, all i could do is suck it up and either quit him completely or do what i felt was right (and charge more for the other stuff i do for him). he still hires me so whatever, he could walk away at any time also. in my haying operation i have missed family events and holidays to bend over backwards for the guys, at a point i realized i was taken advantage of. i still do whatever it takes to take care of my customers but i charge for it also.

your going down a dangerous path. even though your doing good for the guy if hail came in and wiped his crop out you will be worst of the bad guys in his opinion. you need to either suck it up and do what he says and get compensated fairly for doing a half ass job for him or move on because i assure you someone else will. not only that though if your farming it and the acres look terrible then that makes you look terrible to other potential renters. your in a tuff spot but i know where you are coming from. the fact is that it isn't yours and you have to do what they say or not, so in the end you need to decide if its for you or not.
