How about you offer to split an 80 or 160.  One side he does it his way, he picks the cheapest corn, spray once, no fertilizer.  On the other half, do it how you would do it, fertilize, control weeds, good hybrids.  Tell him if your side doesn't make more money you will eat the "excess" cost.
