I have heard some farmers describe much more persistent positive effects of old fence-rows on yield.

I expect that tillage practices would impact the persistence of fence-row effects with no-till resulting in more persistent fence-row effects.

The width of your harvesting equipment relative to the width of the old fence-row and your direction of traffic relative to the old fence row would probably also impact detection of old fence-row effects.
