I've walked past the stacks of cylinders being repaired at the plant. You say the shaft can't be bent by a falling bale, the warranty manager disagrees. I agree it sounds unlikely but it does happen. The mill grate is now standard on most grinders. They are restrictive but many hundreds of people are grinding hay with them in place.
