Manitoba | rebuilder and NEFarmer are saying exactly what I am talking about the only thing I would add is than you need drainage thru the system because you also need sulphur to bond with the Mg to create Epsom salts and then flush out. Since Mg also has a high affinity for water, his is why high Mg soils tend to hold water. If the water can't flow down thru the system and take the Epsom salts out you won't gain much, to really work the land needs to be tiled. It takes a lot f lime to make it work, usually 3-4+ tonne of the water treatment lime we have in the first pass.
Side note I was thinking it affected pH 1.7 times more but that could be my memory is wrong | |
