Around here if you have a lot of onions (wild garlic) it usually is a sign it needs lime.




I have never heard that before. Any proof or have you just observed that on field you have tested?


It's just an observation mostly but someone did clue me into that one time I believe. We rotate winter wheat on a lot of our farmland and wild garlic is a serious problem if it gets through your weed control program. BTDT. A couple of farms that we own (had recently purchased at the time) had onions REALLY bad. The problem went away once we limed them. There might still be a plant here or there but they were pretty solid in places before. I definitely believe it.
