East Palestine, Ohio (Columbiana Co.) | Ohio is definitely not the oil capital of anywhere, but they are setting state production records by the month, and ODNR issued 33 new drilling permits in Dec. of 2015. This is according to the Shale Gas Reporter. Guess not everyone thinks its gonna keep going down.?? These permits are all in the utica shale formation for the oil or wet gas-nothing happening in the marcellus or dry gas rock. Seems like some outfits see some value in having the holes punched and ready to go when price comes back, maybe?
