East Central, Nebraska | some things I do not understand and variable rate N is one of them. I vary the rate of several products but not N. my soils don't exactly vary all that much so maybe that is why. have all the technology to do so but usually the only time the rate of N changes is when I cross from an irrigated to a non irrigated part of the field. if the planting population is going to change in that area so will my N rate. so no and yes, but really no.
