World production declined 1.6 billion bushels in 15 from 14, a billion of that was from the "world" and that was without major weather problems in the words of some here.
Studies have shown the during El NiƱo events that soy production usually goes up by 2-3 % but rice, wheat and maize decline, for maize on the order of 4-5%. Add in that acres or hectares planted in the world are declining for maize.
