| I was actually thinking it (cultivation) was going to net a better response based on what I saw in my Sweet Corn a couple of years ago. That was unquantified, however, and not very scientific.
I guess I'm thinking it did not yield any results because weather this year was an overwhelming factor. Couple that with the corn being planted late (growing really fast), conventional tillage (warm soil and other benefits), and really only getting a little stress. Water was not an issue this year. I think we have had close to 34 inches YTD.
I guess cultivation wasn't one of the much smaller staves in the barrel this year. (here, of course).
