| My mother does upholstery work out of our home on the side and does a lot of heavy equipment seats, including all mine.
I would have to say that looks normal for a high hour tractor, the original fabric gives way at the 5000 hour mark. Surprised that chunks of foam aren't missing. Mom recommends getting a seat recovered before the foam gives way as it more difficult / expensive to reconstruct a cushion by gluing or having to fabricate a whole new foam piece.
I can tell you that the recommended replacement cloth or vinyl is of much higher quality then OEM, in the factory they just use the cheapest, thinnest stuff available, adequate for a few years.
Much equipment goes a long time with worn seats, it's used daily and the machine would have to be taken out of service while waiting to have the seat redone. | |
