Subject: RE: Rent negotiations

Columbia Basin, Ephrata, WA
I don't understand why old farmers expect young farmers to live like a bunch of working poor. Why is a guy managing millions of dollars of assets, often with his entire net worth and more at risk, supposed to live poorer than his friends in town that punch in at 9, out at 5, and get weekends and holidays off, with paid vacation and benefits? They're supposed to be educated, productive, experienced professionals, but reading here are apparently supposed to live at the income level of a high school dropout.

The comments in this thread about wives not working are disheartening. The contributions of stay at home wives and mothers used to be valued, now it looks like they aren't.
