Yorkshire UK | Firstly, get used to flying it and take a while to read up online very carefully about the procedure for actually doing firmware update.
It nags you in a way which suggests you need or even must do the updates - but you can ignore indefinitely if you want. A lot of new owners think it must be almost unsafe to fly without updates and get in a mess as the procedure is not simple and can result in bricked controller, bricked phantom or no video link. They are also about to start pushing the 'geofence' firmware and once that's installed there will be no going back. This will introduce very large areas where you'll have to go online and 'unlock; your quad for that area before it will even start. Far too intrusive in my opinion. I'll be avoiding this for several months to see how it works out. |
